General Relationships of the various demons

Demons, or daemons, collectively known as daemoni are beings of immense power and inscrutable origins that emerged from far beneath the ground under Mount Satanmet. They would seek to claim their seemingly natural positions as masters of the world by unifying the races dispossessed by humans, the greatest threat of the daemoni.

Origins[]

Much of the daemoni -demons-, before their violent contacts with Christian humans in the attack of the settlements in Demonatch Island, as they left Mount Satanmet, is unknown, and for most of humans, the demons were a complete mystery, and a dangerous enemies, as to their enemies -and the humans who served and worshipped them-, they tried to appear as divine -or demonic- beings.

When the demons first appeared, defeating human kingdoms and realms, the human religions raised as the only ones who could oppose "demons", and in fact, there the same humans who called "demons" by that name, being unknown the name they used to designate themselves -being one of the reasons of the origin of the power of knowing the secret name of a demon, gave to the bearer of this knowledge.- As the human religions used the "demons" to reinforce their position, the "demons" adopted as well this role the humans gave them, to unify under their banners all the enemies of mankind.

In the same way, most high and light elven accounts and information of demons, and the study of demons, the demonology, was partial, full of stories, myths and half truths, and so in the end, the better sources to study the demons would be the ones provided by some of the servants, vassals and allies of the Dark Legion of Demons, who keep written records. The demon themselves produced extensive libraries, sources and knowledge, but it wasn't accessible to their enemies, and much of this knowledge was destroyed by the Wars of the Power, and the Great cataclysm. (see The Cataclysm)

Because of this, much still is unknown about them-

General Description[]

Soul Gems[]

The appearance of demons wasn't very uniformed: As the core of the Bazrrod, rather than their physical form -constructed- was their "soul gem", if the "soul gem" wasn't destroyed, even if the physical form was destroyed, they would be able to get into a new physical form, that they constructed from their own preferences, being in principle the Bazrrod demon lords genderless. However, as they created the demons and lesser demons, they shaped them. And as the demons lords had descendants -only a Bazrrod if it was between two Bazrrod the bred, "middle" demons otherwise- they as well inherited then to some demons genetic traits.

Various Appearances[]

Because of this, the Demon Lords appearance was very different, and the humans recorded to be careful, as the servants of the Dark legion could do a masquerade as servants of righteousness and "angels of light".

Nevertheless, they were generally described as ugly and monstrous beings by Christian demonologists.

About the color of the demons' skin, since early times it was associated with black, red, and less, green and blue, although not all descriptions agreed, giving demons very different aspects.

Henry Bortger and some Sargonic demonologists of the same epoch asserted that witches and warlocks confessed (under torture) that demons' bodies were icy, and for long this belief prevailed.

Demon Powers[]

According to demonologists of the Empire of Whide Axis, Demonic supernatural powers are believed to include psychokinesis, levitation, divination, possession, Extrasensory perception, telepathy, witchcraft, and curses, as well as superhuman/elven/dwarven strength, controlling the classical elements, animal control, and provocation. Demons use variants and combinations of these powers to harass, demoralize, confuse, and disorient the victim, or the willing subject of demonic interest. Often Demons are said to create negative emotions, wreaking havoc, ensuing chaos, and disrupting peace.

The Demonic Dark Legion[]

The Demonic Dark Legion was a more or less republican structure, led by the Seven Demon Princes -Saatan the Great, Satman the Apprentice, The Nigromante of Tok-Thoria, the Witch King of Dol-Nur were among the ones who remained longer in such positions, with Anutkahook becoming one for a time.- Aside of the Seven Demon Princes, executive power of the Dark Legion, lead by Saatan as primus inter pares elected by the other demons, there was a council composed of 66 demonic dukes, princes, kings, etc. These were chosen, but it varied how they were elected in different demonic states -hereditary, conspiracy and assassination, elections, and all normal demonic politics- Aside of these 66 demonic princes, the vassals and allies had as well representation in the Dark Legion, which called itself as well the "Confederation of Free Peoples".

According to human demonologists, there were 666 legions, and each legion was composed by 6,666 demons, so they had an army of 44,435,622 demons -counting the demonic dukes- and 7 demon princes. Other estimates said figures of 133,316,666 demons. HOWEVER, these numbers seem only the creation of the demonologist authors, mathematical plays, rather than real estimations, as the demon population never seemed to have been very populous.

Demon classification[]

The demons are classified in the following way:

The demons seem to have been divided in three main groups: The Demon Lords -or high demons-, the demons, and the lesser demons. The classification of demons is based on several criteria.

Demon Lords:[]

The Bazrrod who were divided in the first, second and third hierarchy, the demons of fate and shape-shifters.

Demons[]

Lesser Demons[]

Demon Soldiers[]

As you see, these are the 'demon-demons'.

Sub Demons[]

Aside of them, there existed other demon-related groups:

Half Demons, (Cambions)[]

Sometimes the werewolves and vampires were classified as such, but it was discussed. Some more commonly accepted are creatures as the Quag, a breed of werewolf with a warg, unable to shift forms. Cambions and other demons born from the union of a demon and other non-demon were as well half demons. While there existed Cambions descendants of incubi, succubi and werewolves, it was discussed if could exist cambions of other kinds of demons. Dudres were supposedly demons who take over women in an act of possession, but is unclear if they are a myth, or only servants of demons, or demons who adopted the form of other non-demonic races for infiltration purposes.

Daemoni Created by the High elves[]

As has been shown, in all origins of demons, in some way, requires the use of artifice and sorcery to manipulate the soul-shards and manufacture or otherwise grow the bodies needed for the demons to inhabit. So given enough time, effort and magical research, it shouldn't be surprising that the Golden High elves of the Wizards of the Coast, of the City of Mages, Dahl'Haran, should work out the principles of the process, and manufacture daemoni of their own using captured soul-shards.

Perhaps the most important creation that the Wizards of Dahl'Haran created was the Battleborn. A race of creatures made by the High elves of the Empire of Whide Axis from captured (and artificially produced) soul-shards to be used against the demons of the Demonic Dark Legion. The Battleborn looked like angels so as to psychologically counter the demonic appearance of the Daemoni in the minds of the allied humans, and probably to try and improve the standing of the High elves to the human populations of Aels and elsewhere.

Demon creations[]

Monsters, Abominations, Golems, creations, Naga (the construct version). These are difficult to quantify or classify.

  • Demon server races created by the demons as the Uniox Goatmen, Hattak Fauns, Draconians, Ozcuras and Kokto orcs, Ur Dur Goblins, Zarapongo, Driders, Sergdraak dragon men, among others. They are divided between those that have a magical aura and those that do not.

Those Demons Servers with faint demon aura magic:[]

Demon Servers Created by Sorcery, but are Not Demons:[]

Of the demon servers, some others are result of breeding and demonic magic, but have no demonic attributes
