Fluffy the Pet Elf (Al'Jathis, 2389 a.a.H. - ? ) Is known as "Fluffy" as this is a slave name that she's been known as most of her life. Only recently has accepted her identity of "Naemae", and her orc relations would still know her predominantly as "Fluffy".

Naemae was born in 2389 a.a.H. in Al'Jathis, a long established village of Wild elfs on the outskirts of Antor, not far from the swamp of the Saahdons. Despite being on the periphery of the plains, the Antorian Orcs occasionally raided the village through the decades. Naemae was named for her deceased aunt Naemae who had perished years before her birth in 2363 a.a.H.

Her father was a village hunter, who had also perished while she was still an infant, possibly due to a hunting accident. The elf known as Hastur the Lame moved in with her mother to offer support. Hastur was the betrothed lover to the elder Naemae and moved in as if he were an in-law, though he never married the aunt, he had an apparently non-sexual relation with the sister of his deceased Naemae, and regarded the child Naemae as his niece whom he liked to think of living for his beloved's memory.

End of Al'Jathis[]

In 2398 a.a.H., when young Naemae was nine years old, (4.5 years old in human bio years) a massive orc attack through much of the plains took place. Even the out the way Al'Jathis was targeted and unfortunately destroyed. Many defenders would be killed, and the wounded and infirm killed and eaten or otherwise beheaded. Some inhabitants would escape or avoid capture, but large numbers of the inhabitants would be taken as captives and enter into lives of slavery. Naemae was taken as a slave as the warrior who captured her, Pecas wanted her as a pet.

Elf Slaves[]

Uncertainty of being owned by Antorian orcs[]

Antorian Orcs often take slaves, but the slavery tends to be an uncertain and temporary arrangement, especially for the slaves. Captives taken by orc raiders might very well be killed and eaten as soon as getting back to an orc village or meeting hub in a victory celebration, or else have a short career as slaves until the orc village moves or a famine sets in. Very few slaves, particularly elves, held by orcs are allowed to live to travel migratory paths with them or live for many years.

Rescue and Death of some Captives[]

Many of the captive elves of Al'Jathis would be killed as their enslavement went on for years. Fortunately, many captives would be rescued by the White Hermit, Belád Bonceduil. Hastur the Lame would count as one of those rescued. Unfortunately, young Naemae's mother would be traded and find herself taken to northern Antor, where eventually she would be killed by her orc masters.

Fluffy the Pet Elf[]

Naemae was taken as a pet by Pecas Wargh, and that's just what was done with her in the large orc village of Brukkuthuz. Fortunately, Pecas's mother would keep the young elf girl alive even while Pecas was absent. As a young child kept as a pet, Naemae had a very different experience than most elf captives. But as more typical, her name was not acknowledged, and she would be a nameless pet. Years later, a child of Pecas would dub her "Fluffy", and the name would stick.

Near Rescue[]

In 2410 a.a.H. the orc village of Brukkuthuz was raided by the Nortolon Rangers. One objective was to free any captive elves held by the orcs. A ranger came within the very hut that Fluffy was kept but apparently didn't see her amidst a large brood of orc children and Pecas. She left the hut perhaps not wanting to risk the dangers of being in an enclosed space with many orcs, even if most were children. Also, the operation was running short of time before warg rider reinforcements arrived.

A darker alternative is that the ranger might have been disgusted by the elf child amidst many orc children as if she were one of them. Or that she wouldn't be able to manage a child who didn't want to be rescued. At this point in time, Fluffy had been living with the orcs for twelve years, more than half her life.

Fluffy's Roles[]

Fluffy as a caregiver to orc children

For her first years, the young elf child was treated quite literally as a pet of her mistress, Pecas, and of her mistress's older children. The orc children aging and growing up much faster than Fluffy given the long life and slow aging of elves even as children, relative to the speedy development of orc children. But as Fluffy aged herself, she would take on familial roles of a 'play mate' and 'big sister' and 'care giver' and then 'family servant' as the years went by, and a large orc family was created, and she grew from little more than a toddler to an adolescent.

Life was not always easy for Fluffy, she carries many scars, the source of which is unknown, perhaps from a domesticated Warg attack, or orc children playing roughly with her with sticks has been suggested. As time went by, Fluffy long since internalized her role as a slave, although she still had a pet status in that she was treated as a 'member of the family' by much of the orc family who loved her as a cross between a cherished pet and beloved domestic servant.

The Wrall and Son Stone Trading Company[]

Fluffy Sold[]

Most of her orc family was made up of females, but by 2426 a.a.H. there would come a time when the young son that the family caregiver Fluffy saw born and grow, was no longer so young, and had become an adolescent, and began to hound Fluffy. It might have seemed the orcs that the elf girl would remain a child forever, but Fluffy had long since reached adolescence as well by this time.

Pecas overheard this, and to avoid such a relation with the family servant, decided to sell Fluffy. So, in 2426 a.a.H., Pecas sold Fluffy to a traveling Duergar dwarf caravan of the Wrall and Son Stone Trade Company so as Fluffy would be put out of reach, and because 'selling an elf slave to other orcs is nearly like eating that elf herself'. Fluffy would be heartbroken at leaving the only family and life that she could still remember.

Owned by Dwarves[]

Fluffy and her Mistress Wrall

The transition was likely hard for Fluffy, as she was now a general utility slave for calculating dwarfs (specifically, Duergar) rather than the emotional orcs she knew. Indeed, she would become nameless again, officially known only as "slave No. 124". But it would prove to be a more safe and stable life as well. Fluffy had learned skills such as scouting, and speaking multiple orc dialects and elven which made her useful beyond a general worker. She would also learn how to drive carts as well as loading them. She had a friendly 'can do' attitude and was a 'born slave' for being captured for so long. This would result in getting some less burdensome duties.

Fluffy would see much of the vertical axis of Zarhuy in her time on the caravan circuit. It was in many ways a mind expanding time for her, even if she was still a lowly slave.

The Drow Trio[]

The Drow Trio Needed to Act as Porters in the Caravan. Fluffy the Pet Elf in the Foreground in her role as a scout

In 2427 a.a.H. Fluffy was living in Faria, a northern Zarhuy land of the Duergar Dwarfs that the Wrall and Son Stone Trading Company was based at. Fluffy had been used as a model by the wife of the son of Wrall jr in making armor made to fit elven females. She was a black smith armorer and made an armor made for Fluffy that was meant to be used as a sales pitch to some Sia'Peiran Drow importers. However, the armor was not styled as those drow might have liked, nor would it fit an average drow female, Fluffy being of somewhat larger dimensions than a typical drow. Having failed to achieve a commission, the daughter in law resolved that they should find a drow female to use as a model.

At an outdoor slave auction, perhaps some months later, Fluffy saw the three Negeémi drow known as the Drow Trio being sold by the Farian slaver known as Roothar. Knowing that his daughter in Law wanted some drow models, Wrall jr. decided to buy them, quite possibly even having gained a 'heads up' notice from Roothar. He toyed with Fluffy as to whether she wanted to work with drow or not, Fluffy didn't care and essentially said that her master would do what he cared anyway. Hence, all three unruly drow were purchased with Fluffy meant to help with their transition to slavery and probably Farian dwarf speech.

Soon after this time, the company began another circuit. Fluffy would allow them to make escape attempts, but she would also hunt them down, so the Drow Trio couldn't truly trust her. Even so, she did much to help them in their new lives as slaves. There would come a time when Wrall jr. was transporting a luxury slave named Kallista, Fluffy found that her responsibilities included taking close care of this fussy and arrogant slave, and the Drow Trio who were also trained as aids for her.

Tellingly, both Wrall jr. and Kallista would miss Fluffy when she would be stolen away.

Return to Brukkuthuz[]

An Orc Raid[]

In 2428 a.a.H. having entered into the land of Thilien, and stopping for a trade near a high elf palace for a few days, the caravan was attacked by an unexpected raid of Antorian Orc Warg riders. They attacked at night and seemed to know what they were doing, they located a wagon where Fluffy was kept with the Drow Trio and Kallista. The orc broke Fluffy free of the wagon, and because of the chain, took all three members of the Drow Trio as well, they rode for a long time until they were well away. Eventually, Fluffy found herself back in the village of Brukkuthuz again.

A Proposal[]

The drow trio were terrified by the seeming threat of being about to be sacrificed by having their heads smashed. Instead, their strong dwarven chain was broken by the orc known as The Immortal Shaman. Fluffy learned for certain that their abductor was Mataelfo, the orc boy who had been infatuated with her and led to her being sold to Wrall jr. Mataelfo had become an accomplished warrior and even a sort of sub-chieftain of a small subsidiary village of the Brukkuthuz tribe. He had been looking for the same dwarf caravan to come through, and had noticed Fluffy's presence and conducted the raid to regain her. But not as the family slave, but as his wife.

Problems[]

Now that Fluffy had been returned, this marriage was something that would happen, as, for one, Fluffy had little concept of the word "No" being something that she could use. Additionally, the inappropriate innuendos of years previously now seemed reasonable, one has to understand that Fluffy was a slave from childhood who had spent her life more associated with orcs than her own people.

Rather than Fluffy, Mataelfo had more problems amongst his fellow orcs and family. But as a rising young warrior of great size and strength, he had little difficulty in quieting dissent. His mother was a harder sell, although she had obtained two new little elf girls she had named: "Morsel" and "Cupcake", showing her remaining affection for her prospective daughter in law.

While she was not capable of using the word "No", Fluffy was capable of guile, using what she had learned amongst the dwarves to make the orcs sick every time that they thought that they had eaten elf meat. They gained the suggestion that elf meat was poorly digested. This was also how she kept her friends, the Drow Trio from being made as food. The orcs were told that the dark elves were poisonous.

Marriage[]

So, the marriage eventually went place as planned, with the Drow Trio serving as Fluffy's attendants. The orc known as The Immortal Shaman presiding. Unfortunately, the Immortal Shaman's story telling would lead to a mutated version of the event spreading through the orc tribes of a new "Orc Queen". This information would come to the attention of the Nortolon Rangers.

Mataelfo's Village[]

Mataelfo and Fluffy

Mataelfo was based in his own village, a small village of palisades by the banks of the Shaa River. His tiny troop of warg riders and a few other warriors lived there, but was otherwise populated by their women and children and some aged orcs and a handful of slaves. Add to that was the now freed and married Fluffy and what now amounted to 'her' three drow slaves. Fluffy intended to let them go, but in effect, they were owned by Mataelfo and served the village doing chores. They resolved to bide their time until a good chance to escape came along and they had supplies, although they would be in Brukkuthuz and this much smaller village for several months altogether.

Fluffy had a fine time with Mataelfo, although her relations with the neighbors as Mataelfo's wife were expectedly strained.

Attack on the Village[]

The Rumor[]

Over these months, rumors of this supposed new 'Orc Queen' had reached the Nortolon Rangers. Learning the truth of these rumors and location of this new Orc Queen was a priority. Hastur the Lame would learn of this rumor from Alisha when she stopped off to see him in his home in the Saahdons refuge of the White Hermit, (Belád Bonceduil). Hastur would take the opportunity to investigate the matter himself.

The Use of the Orc Killers[]

Elven scouts would indeed locate the village in question, and would attack, utilizing the Orc Killers, a group of irregular warriors who specialize in raids on orc villages. Particularly if intending to wipe them out. The Orc Killers were a blunt instrument, that they were intended to be used at all suggests that the Nortolon authorities intended to destroy those the rumors were about regardless of any truth to the story. The story in and of itself was dangerous in that it mentioned an "Orc Queen". The first Orc Queen had the potential to have swept all elves from the plains of Antor, and to destroy all the elf palaces and settlements in Thilien, to then threaten Vanilion, and perhaps threaten and even destroy Nortolon itself.

While the horde of the Orc Queen had dissipated by itself many years earlier, it was due to reasons that the elves didn't understand, nor was the fate of the Orc Queen known. Seeing her again, or some successor, even if just as a story, was not something that the commanding High elves were willing to allow. So this strange anomaly of an elven orc queen and her drow servitors would be killed to destroy the rumor whether than be concerned about the truth. The rumor itself, and the revival of the legend of the Orc Queen being seen as more dangerous than any more likely truth anyway.

The Attack[]

A lousy birthday by shabazik-d3hti3w

The Orc Killers attacked with an overwhelming force of some eighty warriors of various expertise. They were successful in severely damaging the village and killing most of the inhabitants, but failed in their stated objectives of killing the 'Orc Queen and her Drow'. The Drow Trio fought and killed some Orc Killers and then escaped the pressed attack by use of the Shaa River, Fluffy herself took two orc children and hid, but released Wargs that would run loose and maul several of the elven attackers, Hastur the Lame was in the area and heard the attack, choosing to fight the Orc Killers of whom he held in contempt. With some irony, he would save Mataelfo from death who had gone down fighting the attackers of the village.

Withdrawal[]

The Orc Killers were ordered to withdraw. Indeed, they were ordered to withdraw within minutes of Hastur making his appearance. The reason is not clear, although fear of orc reinforcements showing up was doubtlessly one of them. Another point was that the Orc Killers had devolved into looting and raping even while the attack was still underway and before any accounting of the situation was evaluated. Hastur's attack might easily have been perceived as an Orc Killer going insane, possibly due to a bad drug, as many of the Orc Killers were noted for going into battle intoxicated. With spreading disorder, the officer might have decided to withdraw and regroup. A result being that the orc village was essentially destroyed, but confirmations were not achieved.

Reuniting with Hastur[]

Fluffy threatened by Hastur the Lame who thinks her one of the Orc Killers

Near Tragedy[]

Having seen Orc Killers butchering and tormenting children in village, Hastur very nearly killed Fluffy, thinking her as one of the Orc Killers when finding her with two orc children. He might have done so out of hand but for the intervention of the orc children. Upon learning of his mistake, he would soon find that Fluffy was actually his lost niece Naemae of whom he had searched for. Hastur and Fluffy would get the survivors together for treatment, and Hastur would also defend the village by capturing some scouts that approached, wanting to take an accounting.

The White Hermit[]

After several days, the surviving orcs could be moved and they abandoned the ruined village. After several more days, Hastur was able to take them into the Saahdons swamp and onto the swamp island refuge of the White Hermit (Belád Bonceduil). There, Fluffy would joyfully find that the Drow Trio had floated into the swamp and had been stuck in the mud, and then rescued by the White Hermit. Given the reality of a dozen orcs now living on his refuge, the White Hermit elected to depart with the Drow Trio to return them home. He left Hastur in charge of dealing with this mess.

Hastur's Wedding[]

Roots by shabazik-d6t5ktf

Hastur the Lame, Alisha, took Fluffy, (who was having trouble acknowledging her name of "Naemae") and the two orc children who had stowed away on the boat on a river journey out of the Saahdons, and east past the confluence of the Shaa River to land on the bank on the other side, the party then journeyed by land into Thilien. There, in the final days of 2428 a.a.H., Fluffy would be reunited with the refugees of the destroyed village of Al'Jathis, she would acknowledge her identity as "Naemae", first to keep everyone happy, but days later with more honesty as she learned of her connections. Fluffy/Naemae would attend Hastur and Alisha's wedding, she would meet the master of the local Palace estate, Eurantian Manwё again for the first time since she was a small child, and look with astonishment as she saw a toy factory on the estate. She would learn the history of her people from the Al'Jathis elder, Akhara.

Current Status[]

Fluffy/Naemae has since returned to the White Hermit's refuge in the Saahdons and her orcish husband Mataelfo. There is an implication that some of the people of Al'Jathis may try to join them there as they think that the people that Hastur and Naemae are living with are Wild elf swamp elves. Hastur wanted to keep the secret of Naemae marrying an orc, and so the people of Al'Jathis believe that Naemae married into a wild elf tribe, but the truth might come out. As well, the threat of the Orc Killers might still exist.

Naemae has returned to being "Fluffy" again, but with her restored identity and knowledge might come a new assertiveness as well? She might well need it.
