The Kanovhook wars, known as well as the Kanov-demon wars or the war of Polforia, was a series of armed conflicts in Aels between the demons of the Dark Legion and the Kanov tribes and kingdoms of Polforia, that will last between the 1.711 to the 1.869 after the apparition of humanity (a.a.H), ending with the demon victory.
The war, that will last 158 years, was really a series of wars, with truces, peace treaties, treasons and battles, changing during the war several times the alliances.
In principle, to face the Kanov numeric and military superiority, the demons allied, enslaved or made vassals many of the other inhabitants of Polforia -alternatively, depending of the force of them and the Dark Legion-, as the Sylvan elfs (who, under demon influence, will become known as Blood elfs), Humans, orcs and beastmen.
Meanwhile, the kanov tribes will conform a confederation each time a powerful king or warrior could band the Kanov peoples together, making as well alliances and breaking them with humans and elves.
Demons Move to PolforiaEdit
After the end of the Dumian-Demon Wars with the final fall of Dume at the 1.676 a.a.H, the demons, while victorious, were weakened, and decided to move to the north of Aels, to reorganize their forces, strengthen themselves, and build an empire, settling in the region of Polforia.
Polforia by then, after centuries of war, was a territory controlled by the Kanovs, and while at the beginning they didn't seem to care about the demons settlements; the foundation of the Daimon City-State of The Dark Tower of Dol-Nur will make to the kanovs clear that the demons have come to stay: As well, several tribes didn't like how the demons positioned themselves as some gods and idols to be worshiped.
Great Hunger of PolforiaEdit
The Great Hunger of Polforia was a period of mass starvation, disease, and emigration in the then Kanov ruled Polforia between 1684 and 1698 a.a.H.. During the famine, between dead and emigrants, Polforia's population fell by between 20% and 25%.
The cause of the hunger was after four consecutive years of Bad crops, wars between the kanov kingdoms, a wheat disease and finally a volcanic eruption of Dol-Nur.
A Cause for Demonic TakeoverEdit
The famine weakened the Kanovs' rule of Polforia, who couldn't oppose the later founding of Demonic realms in their lands. The massive hunger soured the already strained relations between many of the Polforian peoples and the Kanovs, heightening feelings of independence from Kanov rule, which eventually led to many of the subjects of the Kanovs to support demons or join the Confederation of Free Peoples.
Campaign of Dol-NurEdit
The campaign of Dol-Nur was the first military actions of the war, with the attack of a kanov confederate army of Kordor and Nurandian tribes at the 1711 a.a.H, who tried to sack and destroy the Dark Tower of Dol-Nur. They faced a numerically inferior force of the demons in the battle of the Fields of Morod the 1.721 a.a.H. the Demons defeated the Kanov confederation, who suffered heavy losses:

There, an army of over two hundred thousands Kanovs was defeated by the demons at Iztah in the 1.749 a.a.H in the battle of the Burned Fields, as the dark legion made an alliance with the Black dragons of Brûm.
War of the SwampsEdit
Following the Kanov defeat in the Burned Fields, the Dark legion invaded the Polforian kanov lands in the 1752 a.a.H. Rasbärd Longbeard retreated with his forces to the swamps, fighting a series of minor battles and skirmishes. To face the guerrilla tactics of the Polforians, the demons built a series of fortresses in the swamps of Polforia, such as the Dark tower of Billiboncea.
With the death of Räsgard Longbeard from sickness in his camp, a succession war began between the Polforian remnants, and a candidate supported by the Dark Legion gained the throne, ending the war of the swamps at the 1.758.
Campaign of the Forest of the GhostsEdit
After the consolidation of their victory in Polforia, the dark legion advanced over the forests of Ded at the 1762, facing a Kordor kanov-Sylvan elf alliance. After a bloody series of battles in the forests of Ded, the result was a stalemate and the dark legion retreated from Ded, nicknamed the forest of the Ghosts for all the fallen in the battle.

Knowing this, the demons needed to prevent the kanov armies from joining, and advanced to Brûm.
There, At the 1767 a.a.H will be fought two subsequent battles known as the Battle of Ash, in which the Dark Legion and the Black Dragons defeated first the Kordor, Nurandian and men of Brûm army, and later in the same day, the arriving army of the Konolardos.
This meant a major defeat for the Kanovs, and the occupation of the dustlands of Brûm by the Black dragons.
War of EntarteaEdit
As the Konolardos and Rumnelios kanovs were dedicated to fight a war between themselves, the dark legion made an alliance with Rumnelia against the konolardian tribes, which served as an excuse to invade the territory of the Konolardos in Entartea.
However, the demons were defeated at the 1768 in the battle of the Fields of Entartea, forcing the dark legion commander to fortify, raising a fortress in Entartea, a fortress that was sieged by the Konolardos at the 1778 -after the peace they made with the Rumnelios-, but they failed.
The demons were defeated against in the Battle of the Fields of Hilán at the 1792 a.a.H, so their Entartean fortress was besieged again until the 1796, when the Demons were able to repel the konolardian invading force.
Wars of BrûmEdit
The wars of Brûm are a series of wars between the Dark Legion and the Black dragons against the kanov and sylvan elves, between the 1770 to 1810, which resulted in the defeat and occupation of the sylvan elves, men of Brûm, Kordor and Nurandian kanov, and the consolidation of the Brûmer state of the Black Dragons.
Campaign of western KonolardiaEdit
As the dark legion expanded to Serak and Dbejor, frictions between factions of the Dark Legion, made the lycanthrope demon lord Finsternis to advance with his forces over the western territories of the Konolardos at the 1773, as they were weakened by their war with the Rumnelios and the dark legion in Entartea.
The Konolardos however were able to drive out the forces of Finsternins, and even advance over Polforia, but with their forces stretched in various fronts, they weren't able to hold and made a truce with Finsternis.
However, the truce was used by Finsternis to begin to send werewolves and monsters to western Konolardia, bringing fear and terror, before launching an invasion at the 1780 a.a.H, but the kanovs were able to keep the dark legion at bay, losing the northern territories, but causing disputes among the forces of the dark legion.
In 1791, Finsternis tried a third time to invade these lands, this time advancing with an army of Werewolf tribes, causing great destruction. But the Konolardian army, after their victory in the fields of Hilán in Entartea in the 1792, advanced to the west, defeating the main army of Finsternis in the battle of the Broken Howls, dispersing his army.
However, the werewolves will keep up a series of skirmishes and attacks, before gathering again as an army. In 1797 a.a.H, the werewolves of Finsternis will win the battle of the Tail Bells, a hard earned victory, but that marked the decline of the Kanov presence in western Konolardia, which by the 1.804 became Mondwargh, the land of the werewolves.

Battle of the Abyss of Dhermon HelEdit
By the second half of the decade of 1840, the kanov tribes and states of Polforia had time, thanks to the truces, to regain their numbers, strength and forces, and was growing again a strong sentiment against the demons.
Gaûrgmar the Black, king of the Rumnelios, exploited this, and was able to gather in a large Kanov confederation the Nurandian, Kordor, Konolardos, Rumnelios, Grëdker and Kanovait. The demons know about these movements and prepared for war, but when the kanov of the occupied territories rebelled -specially the Polforian rebellion-at the 1852, they were forced to deal with the rebellions, and the kanov armies easily advanced over the demonic held lands.
The kanovs advanced from several directions to Dol-Nur, defeating and forcing to retreat the dark legion forces to their capital lands, until finally at the 1855 a.a.H, at the battle of the Abyss of Dhermon Hel, the army of Gaûmar the Black -according of the demon chronists, of over two millions of Kanovs, number considered an exaggeration by actual chronists, who speak of even only a 10% of that force- faced the armies of the Dark legion.
The battle was fierce and bloody, but ended in a major kanov defeat, with Gaûgmar dead in the battlefield. With him gone, the Kanov confederation fell apart.
Conclusion of the War, Treaty of NurandiaEdit
Between 1855 to 1869 a.a.H, one after one, the remnant kanov lands fell to the Dark Legion, being the end of the war the Treaty of Nurandia, signed at the 1.869 a.a.H, which concluded after over a century and half of war, with the demons as masters of Polforia and the kanovs as vassals, members of the Dark Legion.
