Klauseng

Klauseng (officially, Republic of Klauseng), alternatively, Klau-Seng, Klau Seng or Xiǎo Shěng is a nation if eastern Hieyoks, located north of Ju-Ko, east from Bina and south from Trutsia and Kleineng.

History

Xiao Sheng, the Province of the Elves

The name originates from Xiǎo Shěng, the province of Elves in Binese. For centuries, diverse elves had been the neighbors of the Binese, be the sedentary Silvan elven and Ice Elves settlements or the nomadic Doroz tribes that had find a home north to the Bi states.

As the Binese Empire faced the Oni Kingdoms of demons and ogres -and the Ice Giants and their servants in the far north-, they prompted up Xiao Sheng as a buffer state between the Empire of Bi and their northern non-human enemies:

As well, as Bina passed across several moments of anti non-human policies, laws and prosecutions, many of the dispalced elves -and other non-humans- from within the Empire will either migrate or be expelled to Xiao Sheng -being Klau Sheng first, and later Klauseng, a silvan elven adaptation of the binese name-.

This Binese state was considered by government officials to be a non-human only territory, and for long the adminstration of Bina prohibited access to humans to Xiao Sheng -except for selected government officials-: but as in some of the persecutions of non-humans in the empire broke up mixed families, they began accepting Binese half humans -and humans married to non-humans- to migrate to Xiao Sheng.

While the southern and western border to Bina was controlled, it wasn't the case to the north, and human settlers from outside of the Binese empire will begin to settle there as well.

Non-human population will remain majoritary until the 3000s, when the arrival of Trutsian traders from Robgorov will decide the Binese Imperial Government the need to send binese human settlers to the region -considered to be more loyal vassals to the empire than the non-humans, half-humans and other human ethnicities settled in Xiao Sheng-, to expand the population and avoid the Trutsians to seize the scarcely populated region.

Being a state under human rule, the elves of Xiao Sheng are often depicted as Grey elves.

Province of Klauseng

As the Binese Empire began to suffer from civil war, religious and political strife, the migration of Bi humans to Klauseng continued with the arrival of many refugees. As well, the weakened possition of the empire triggered the colonial ambitions of some of the Aelian powers, as The Joaquintopian Empire of Sargos.

The Joaquintopian monarch, who considered himself to have inherited the crown of the Venerable Empire of Whide Axis since it's disolution had "taken the responsability to veil for the well being of the elves" -which was really only a political excuse used for intervention, mostly in Ushaenor-, but lobbists will began to claim for extending this "holy mission to defend elves" to non-Ushaverican elves -such as the elves of Klauseng, as racial tensions in this province amounted-.

With their economic interests clear and a propaganda speech to their own people, Joaquintopia will began to enact their influence over Klau-Seng -with the aims of making this province into a Protectorade of Joaquintopian Sargos.

Military missions to form a modernized Klauseng army, gunboats, railroads and concessions continued to secure Joaquintopian grip over Klauseng.

Their plans will be put on risk at the 3128 a.a.H, when Klei-Neng, a wayward province of Bina that had become independet invaded Klau-Seng in the Kleineng War -and later, with the Trutsian client state of Robgorov invading Klauseng as well-. To avoid a Trutsian-Joaquintopian War, the control of Klauseng was returned to Bina

-if only temporarily

Protectorade of Joaquintopian Klauseng

At the 3138 a.a.H, The Joaquintopian Empire of Sargos will claim Klauseng into a protectorade of the Empire -independent from Bina-.

While the Anglasecuarnian Wars meant a war between Trutsia and Joaquintopia was avoided -as they were allied in the war against Cretor-, Cretor had as allies in eastern Hieyoks the Binese and Hamu. Ensuring a secret deal with Hamu to avoid agression between the Hamu-held Ju-Ko and Kleineng and Klauseng, this made possible to the Joaquintopian to concentrate their forces against the Binese armies that tried to recover Klauseng.

As a result of the war, Joaquintopian will be prompted up beyond the original borders of Xiao Sheng, and Klauseng will be base for further Joaquintopian imperialistic actions -as the 3164 a.a.H Joaquintopian-Binan war-.

With the majoritary Bi human population revolting at the 3175 a.a.H, the Joaquintopian policy in Klauseng will be to divide the local population, giving positions of power and hegemony over other groups to the Xiannu elves in the military, administration and trade.

As a result of the collapse of the Binese Empire at the 3202, the proclamation of the Republic of Bina and the wake of binese nationalism will face a deep challenge to the colonial powers with interests in Bina.

This -along with the Ozean War of the 3206- lead to the decision of the Joaquintopian elite to liberate the protectorade of Klauseng -as an elven state, even if non-humans barely represented a 10% of the population- at the 3208.

Republic of Klau-Seng

The newly created Republic of Klau-Seng will have to face the first day of it's existence the invasion by the armies of Binese warlords, loyal to the Republic of Bina -but without formal declaration of war-

As the local Bi majority population rebelled, the Klau-Seng elven government was forced to rely only in the non-binese ethnic groups -only a 30% of the population of Klauseng-, and due the Binese nationalist ideas, neither they completely trusted other Hieyoker human ethnic groups -so they would begin to rely more and more on foreign mercenaries to try to keep their national integrity.

By the 3213, taking in consideration the weakened and chaotic state in Kleineng, Bina and Klauseng, the Empire of Trutsia began a new Trutso-Binan War claiming as casus bellum the actions of binese warlords in their influence zones. While the States of Kleineng, Klauseng, the Republic of Bina and the Empire of Hamu will face a common enemy on the Trutsians, this wouldn't mean they stopped their own conflicts.

With the end of the Ignacian Wars at the 3216, with the Ignacians relinquishing control over their colonial possessions in Bina to the Binese, handing them as well large cashes of supplies and weapons will significatively strengthen the Binese Republic, who will be able to cause significative defeats to the Trutsians in Klau-Seng, re-seizing the State of Klauseng into the Republic.

These defeats -and internal tensions- will lead to the adbication of the Trutsian Tsar at the 3218, being formed a Constitutional Trutsian Republic that will sign an armistice to Bina.

Demographics

While originally "the Province of elves", due migration and natural expansion of human population, non-humans had become a minority in Klauseng -but Klauseng remained as the Hieyoker state in the region with a proportionally larger non-human population.

The majority of the population where Bi Humans, followed by other hieyoker binese human ethnicities -the so called Beifang-. During the time of the Joaquintopian protectorate, there migrated foreign hieyokers, as Ju-Kos and Aruzijin-. There are small recogniced minorities of Krakavian humans -Trutsians and Robgorov-. The non-binese Hieyokers humans, while diverse in their ethnicity had as common past being nomads that had become sedentary, collectively called by the Bi as the Beifang -but it's a broad term, rather than a specific human group.

Among the non-humans, the most numerous are the Xiannu elves -the descendants of the original elven inhabitants of Xiao Sheng-. While this term encompases all elves -and half elves or anybody with elven ancestroship who self identify with elven culture-, they are actually divided in Silvan, Ice and Doroz elves -the later still suffering from social stigmatas by the 3240s-.

Aisde of the Xiannu elves -dominant among non-humans-, since the times of their expelling from the Binese empire there was the category the Bi had called Guàiwù -monsters-, which included goblinoids -such as high orcs and oni ogres- and beast people. The Guaiwu, a relatively small, diverse population mostly integrated culturally in times of the Xiao Sheng province with the Xiannu or the humans.
