Kleineng (Popular Republic Kleineng, Ninki no kyôwakoku Kleinengku), as well Klei-Neng, is an eastern Hieyoks nation. It lies by the Sea of Robgorov, south to Robgorov, east from Trutsia and north of Bina and Klauseng.
HistoryThe presence of Airuzu settlers in mainland Hieyoks wasn’t something new at all, and have existed since centuries settlements of Airuzujin in several points, that while the Binese Empire was powerful, where considered vassals of that foreign power.
Many of these colonists settled there under Imperial Binese authorization, who wanted human settlers in these shores, to keep checkered both the Doroz Elves of Bai Fa Shizu of the interior and the advances made by the Trutsians, who had set the Principality of Robgorov.
Originally a group of coastal towns mostly dedicated to fishing, the growth of these cities will attract as well peasants of the Bi, who began to settle, creating a farming frontier of the Bi Empire: however, relatively poor and distant of the centers of power of Bi, the local elites will become more and more independent of the central imperial government.
Fundation of Kleineng Edit
The state of Klei-Neng was founded at the 3121 a.a.H, in continental Hieyoks, by members of the traditional feudal and military aristocracy from the Airuzu archipielago, dissafected from the Empire of Hamu, who rejected the concessions given by the Emperor to Aelian powers in regard to the aperture of ports to foreign trade, presence of missionaries and other concessions given to foreigners since the 3108 a.a.H treaties, that where seen as an insult to the honor of Hamu.
These dissafected feudal, traditional aristocratic and military class rejected as well the attempts of centralization of the Imperial dynasty at the archipelago, and the modernization in several points of their society that menaced their privileges –such as the modernization of the agrarian world and armed forces of Hamu-.
With the decay of the Binese Empire due religious strife and foreign aelian powers, the chaotic opportunity was seen as an opportunity to the malcontent members of the traditional military elite of Hamu to take a claim in the settlements of the Airuzijin in the continent.
An at 3121 a.a.H, landed the armies of several feudal lords of Hamu on continental Hieyoks, in the region of Klei Neng –which coastal regions was mostly populated by Airuzujin settlers and fishermen-, proclaiming the creation of an independent state of Kleineng, independent of both the Binese Empire and Hamu.
Quickly in this state, the malcontent feudal lords of Hamu replicated their traditional institutions, as this state was done precisely to keep safe their traditions, being seen by foreign Aelian press this new state as barbaric and ludite, as they rejected modernization in all aspects, wanting a revitalization of traditional values, moral and culture of Hamu, even if in other state.
Almost as soon Kleineng became an independent state, there where problems: the imperialist Aelian powers saw their own plans for Klei Neng to be abruptly cut down by these independent feudal lords, and they demanded both to Bina and Jamon to put an end to this new state: but Bina, divided in civil war, couldn’t send their imperial armies, and neither Jamon was in the moment capable of sending their own forces across the sea, as their fleet was in process of reconstruction.
The war that was brewing, will finally explode at the 3128 a.a.H, when the aristocracy of Kleineng wanted to expand their sphere of influence beyond this small state on the shores of northern Bina, but beyond, aiming to Klauseng.
The Kleineng War was an armed conflict fought at the 3128-3130 a.a.H, only years after the foundation of Kleineng, in which the Airuzujin military elite of Klei-Neng attempted to annex to their newly created state the Binese vassal of Klau-Seng. This triggered a war with Joaquintopian Sargos, that had interests in the region -and their own plans to make it their own protectorade- and guaranteed it's independence. Under Joaquintopian pressure, the Empires of Bi and Hamu as well declared war on the wayward Airuzujin warlords of Klei-Neng.
The Hamu declaration of war toward Klei-Neng will spark a civil war in Hamu, as the Airuzujin rulers of Kleineng still had a large base of support within Hamu, and their armies meet initial success conquering Klau-Seng:
However, the invasion by Robgorov -vassal of the Trutsian Empire- of Klei-Neng -and the defet of the rebels of Hamu against the modernized Hamu Imperial Army- will mean the defeat of Kleining -and triggering a new crisis, as Robgorov proceeded to invade Klauseng, under the excuses to expel the Kleineng invaders-.
To avoid conflict between the Aelian powers of Joaquintopian Sargos and the Trutsian Empire, it was decided that Klauseng where to return to the Binese Empire as a province of Bina -with the Joaquintopian economic interests intact-, while the hinterlands of Klei-Neng where granted to the Trutsian vassal of Robgorov -with arrangements for Trutsian construction of railways-, while the coastal cities with Airuzujin majority where granted to the Empire of Hamu -seen as an ally of Joaquintopian Sargos, who wanted to stop the Trutsians from reaching the winter ice-free ports of the Robgorov Sea.
Occupation of Klei-Neng Edit
The situation of region would remain highly unstable, with the clashing Joaquintopian-Trutsian interests, the Binese ambitions to take back their lost provinces and Hamu wanting to control all the lands with significative Airuzujin minorities.
Anglasecuarnian Wars Edit
The proclamation of the Joaquintopian protectorade over Klau-Seng at the 3138 seemed to be about to spark a new war in the region -a war that could involve all the aierian powers due the alliance systems-, with a Trutsian-Joaquintopian Sargos clash:
However, the Anglasecuarnian-Cretorian crisis of the Seven Ports will instead result in the beginning Anglasecuarnian Wars (3139-3155), which resulted in strange companions of bed for the alliances in eastern hieyoks, as both Bina and Hamu will be on the Cretorian Alliance, while Trutsia and Joaquintopia where on the Anglasecuarnian Pact.
Precisely due the local tensions, cooperation between Trutsia and Joaquintopia will be minor and distrustful.
Hamu, traditionally close to Joaquintopia won't attack the Klau-Seng protectorade, and didn't supported Bina in their failed offensives against Klauseng.
Trutsia, having large borders with Cretor had to mobilize most of their army to the Cretorian fronts, and due the later Joaquintopian offensives against Bina later launched their own Binese offensives -not to support the Joaquintopian, but to counter their possible after-war influence, leaving their Robgorov satellite in charge of the war in far eastern Hieyoks.
The Robgorov began some undecided sieges on the Hamu-held coastal cities of Klei-Neng -while Hamu hastened their preparations and had secret talks with Joaquintopia to ensure their non-agression in Ju-Ko, then held by Hamu.
With the Joaquintopian non-intervention secured in a secret treaty and the trutsian armies busy in the Karkaz and the Unlic Peninsula, Hamu will disembark their armies in Klei-Neng, defeating in the initial push the Robgorov sieges, and advancing to the interior of Klei-Neng.
The later Hamu invasion of Robgorov itself and the Trutsian Empire will force the Trutsian Empire to send forces to the eastern teather of war.
By the end of the Anglasecuarnian Wars, while Hamu had been in the lossing Cretorian alliance, their secret pacts with Joaquintopia granted them all the lands they held in Kleineng by the armistice -which leaded to some furious offensives in the final hours of the Anglasecuarnian War in Kleineng.
Trutsian-Hamu War Edit
This situation wouldn't be accepted by Trutsia for long, and border tensions between Robgorov, Imperial Trutsia and the Hamu Imperial province of Klei-Neng remained high.
As in the 3164 began a new round of Aelian intervention in Far Hieyoks -with Ignacian, Joaquintopian, Hamu, Trutsia, the JPM, Degoland and even a minor nation as Slavkinia-, Trutsia will begin to search for an excuse to retake Kleineng: And at the 3165, a new skirmish between Robgorov and Hamu troopers in the border will lead to the Trutsian-Hamu War (3165-3166).
The war will end in the continuation of the Status Quo Ante Bellum in Klei-Neng thanks to the Joaquintopian intervention in behalf of Hamu, while Robgorov was annexed into the Trutsian empire.
By the time of the binese rebellions of the 3175, the ethnic Bi inhabitants of the province will join the rebellion -that will be crused by the Hamu Imperial Army, along with militias organized by the Klei-Neng Airuzujin landowners and merchants of the coastal cities.
State of Kleineng Edit
As a result of the collapse of the Binese Empire at the 3202, the proclamation of the Republic of Bina and the wake of binese nationalism will face a deep challenge to the colonial powers with interests in Bina.
In an attempt to quell the disaffection of the Bi peasants, the malcontent of the "old Aruzujin" -Airuzujin settlers from before the Hamu occupation- and of the non-human minorities, the Hamu government will turn the Imperial Province of Kleineng into a the state of Kleineng, a nominally independent state -but considered as a Hamu Satellite state-.Hamu however remained in control of some of the coastal cities, considered "Hamu Home Territory".
The Klei-Neng new government will try to form a Klei-Neng national identity -rather than the divided ethnic identities that ruled the region-, but will fail due the high tensions.
Binese warlords and guerrillas, considering Kleineng to be a lost Binese province will revolt against the Kleineng state.
By the 3213, taking in consideration the weakened and chaotic state in Kleineng, Bina and Klauseng -where the Joaquintopian had liberated their protectorade-, the Empire of Trutsia began a new Trutso-Binan War claiming as casus bellum the actions of binese warlords in their influence zones. While the States of Kleineng, Klauseng, the Republic of Bina and the Empire of Hamu will face a common enemy on the Trutsians, this wouldn't mean they stopped their own conflicts.
With the end of the Ignacian Wars at the 3216, with the Ignacians relinquishing control over their colonial possessions in Bina to the Binese, handing them as well large cashes of supplies and weapons will significatively strengthen the Binese Republic, who will be able to cause significative defeats to the trutsians in Klau-Seng, re-seizing the State of Klauseng into the republic.
These defeats -and internal tensions- will lead to the adbication of the Trutsian Tsar at the 3218, being formed a Constitutional Trutsian Republic that will sign an armistice to Bina.
Due the costs of the war and the Binese victories, Hamu will sue for peace with Bina at the 3219, with Ju-Ko becoming an indepdent state under the sphere of influence of Bina, while Klei-Neng was reincorporated into the republic.
In the 3223, border conflicts in Muong between the Binese and Trutsian Republics will lead to a new Trutsian-Binese war. As result of it, at the 3224 a.a.H resulted in the creation of Muong and Klei-Neng as independent buffer states between both republics.
Kingdom of Kleineng Edit
The newly independent Republic of Klei-Neng -under a military dictatorship- will have before their first official elections a coup d'etat at the 3226 a.a.H that will proclaim the monarchy.
In the next decades, the small hieyoker nation will began an attempt of developing a Kleineng national identity, while struggling to remain independent between the Trutsian and Binese pressure.
With the beginning of the Sibetian Seccession War at the 3246, Kleineng will become a safe haven for the secessionists -and one of the main access doors for the armaments needed for the secession-.
When that war finished, while some provinces achieved their independence from the centralized Trutsian Republic -which became a federation to try to stop the secessionist movements-, many of the failed rebels seeked refugee in Kleineng at the 3249.
Pressure by Trutsia to expel the rebels -and the Kleineng government apparently conceding to the Trutsian demands- will lead to an attempted revolution by the Trutsian expatriates in Kleineng to topple the government -which failed-, but will trigger the invasion of the newly independent-from-Trutsia Robgorov to invade Kleineng at the 3250.
This first "national war" of the new Kleineng will be a victory, and serve to cement the Kleineng national identity.
Kleineng in the Neo-Binese Empire Edit
Popular Republic of Kleineng Edit
Originally, the scarcely populated region had as original human inhabitants the Klei, a nomadic group from which came the name of the region. Along with them, there where non-human populations of nomadic Doroz and orcs and some small forts of Oni ogres and their servants.
Conquered by Bina in the early modern period, the arrival of Trutsian traders will prompt the Binese to bring settlers to the region -which will be initially be Aruzujin.
The Aruzujin will become the majority of the population of Klei-Neng until the 3100s, when there will begin a mass migration of Bi peasants, escaping from the wars and strife in Bina:
While the Aruzujin remained the majority of the coastal cities -and majority of the total population- the interior was dominated by the large ethnic minority of Bi.
During the occupation of Klei-Neng, there will settle a krakavian minority -Robgorov and Trutsians- and Aruzujin from Hamu, which created a distinction between the "New" and "Old" Aruzujin.
Only in the census from 3260 onward, there would be an increasingly larger group of inhabitants of Klei-Neng that self-identified as "Kleineng", rather than other ethnicity.
There still existed as well a minority of non-humans in the interior.
