President Marwas the Lion Demon, was Bazrrod Demon Lord of the Dark Legion of Demons the president of the legislative council of the 66 demon lords, and Minister of Secrets.

According to human demonologists, he was described as the "Great President of Hell governing thirty-six legions of demons. He answers truly on hidden or secret things, causes and heals diseases, teaches mechanical arts, and changes men into other shapes. He is depicted as a great lion that, under the conjurer's request, changes shape into a man."

After the Demon Lords settled in Polforia and was established a new, Polforian Council of the 66 Demon Lords of the Demonic Republic. As the Demonic Republic was entering in crisis, Marwas, a close confidant of Saatan, was elected by the Bazrrod demon lords to be the Great President of the Council: in this election, was weighted precisely his friendship with Saatan, and while some voted to gain favour of the Primus Inter Pares of the Demon Lords, others expected that Marwas, due his friendship with Saatan, would have an easier way convincing Saatan to follow the will of the council, rather than only his own.

As President of the Council, mostly Marwas stood by the majority rule decisions of the council, trying to enforce them and to be applied and certified by the Seven Demon Princes, and he used the power of the council to enact its power in the Polforian Dark Legion.

While he initially opposed the triumvirate of Saatan-Satman-Paimon, as he saw such alliance endangering the Demonic Republic, in the end he was persuaded by Saatan and the machinations of Paimon to accept the proclamation of Saatan as 'Lord of Demons and The Free Peoples of Aiers', which effectively put an end to the Demonic Republic, but not to some of their institutions, that continued but devoid of the power they once held:

Marwas was held in charge as president of a powerless Demonic Council, becoming one of the Seven Demon Princes. But he came to realize that it was an empty title, and the Council had become meaningless, and as he came to realize this, he became more and more opposed to Paimon. Because of this, Paimon's machinations meant that he lost the title as one of the Seven, which as further insult was given to the dragon Barûm -a non-demon-. As he saw Paimon to blame, during the First War of the Power he joined Satman's faction against Paimon, having been promised by Satman a restoration of the power of the Council of the 66; becoming again one of the Seven and to become the Minister of Secrets.

But while Paimon was consumed, the First War of the Power was lost. Marwas the Lion was among the captured, and his soul stone, deprived of a vessel, was kept by the Order of the Watchers of Hellsgate until their liberation by the Second War of the Power

He took active part in the efforts of the restoration of the Dark Legion, recreating a new council of the 66 that he expected would play a key role, but he will find himself trapped between an increasingly distant Saatan, who didn't lead the Dark Legion, the ambitions of Satman and Satman's interest clashes with the Witch King of Dol-Nur

As the council was based in Dol-Nur, he decided a more immediate danger was the Witch King, and in the end took side again with Satman, but he didn't believed in his cause.

Satman, as Hand of Saatan, granted Marwas the Ministery of Secrets, for him to stop his attempts to restore the demonic republic.

But Marwas continued his own agenda.

The failed coup of Satman will affect Marwas, who while he wasn't involved, was as seen as a figure too close to Satman to remain in power. During the War of the Four Black Kings he tried to join the attempts to restore the Demonic Republic by Zaelos, but Zaelos rejected him for his connections with Satman.

Stripped of power, and jailed for 66 years by the victorious Anutkahook, by the Third War of the Power, to quell dissidence among the Demon Lords, Anutkahook had authorization by Saatan to try to reinstate a Council of the 66, who to try to make it appear as a legitimate institution, was given again the presidency to a severely weakened Marwas.
