Polforia - Orc Family

Orcs of Polforia

The orcs are Homo Elvii of the Goblinoid family, and generally, they are described by Elven accounts as bruttish, aggresive and repulsive. Is fair to point out, orc accounts often say such things of elves as well.

Like the rest of the Goblinoids, the orcs doesn't have maná.

History[]

Origins: Proto-Orcs, Orcs and Modern Orcs.[]

The Orcs evolved and diverged from other Homo Elvii in Zarhuy, after the Orcs clade split from the goblinoid lineage of the Homo Elvii. The first records of Orcs date to archeological remains in Forhel from between the 5.000 to 4.000 b.a.H.

However it must be noted that while the emergence of orcs can be found in southern Zarhuy, there are discussions when there is the distintion made between the goblinoid proto-orc -the lineages of large goblins and ogres that will come to form the orcs- and orcs.

The orcs, as a distinctive goblinoid group proceeded to colonize all the continents and larger islands, arriving at Aels and Hieyoks around the 2.000 b.a.H, Ushaenor by the 400-600 a.a.H and Zean at the 800 a.a.H.

Coming to be largelly under demonic influence during the Dark Age of Demons, demons will develope from the original orcish races several new breeds of orcs, mixing and breeding them with other races.

From the mix of orcs with other peoples of Aiers will originate the modern orcs of post-cataclysm Aiers.

Orcs of Zarhuy[]

The Orcs are originally to Forhel and Gronkav, in southern Zarhuy, and from there, they migrated to the north, across Zarhuy, Aels and Hieyoks.

In Zarhuy, can be found the Green Orc of Gronkav and Kaiehm, the Giant orcs of the plains: the Antorian Orc, and in the shores of Caritz, the brown Vanolosé Orc.

Orcs of Aels[]

The orcs arrived to Aels from Hieyoks, settling in this continent the Green Orc of Kaiehm and Polforia and the red Brûmer Orc. Later, settled as in the southern shores, the brown Vanolosé Orc and a tribe of Antorian Orc, the Schlobohmi Orc.

During the Age of Invasions, arrived from Hieyoks to northern Aels the Galaw High Orc, who in Aels will become the Galawkey.

The demons of the Demonic Dark Legion as well will breed new orc races, such as the grey Ozcura Orc, and the black Kokto Orc. These last ones, due the wars of Tok-Thoria, will settle for some decades -and even centuries- in the shores of the sea of Tok and Caritz.

Orcs of Hieyoks[]

In the continent of Hieyoks exist two races of orcs: the smaller Servants of the Giants, the Hieyoksmainer Orc and the High Galaw High Orc , but there would be settlements along the shore line of Vanolosé Orc.

Orc Aging[]

All 'purebred' orcs, and the 'natural' goblins develop and age at a rate 1,5 times faster than humans. Or, in figuring out an actual age from a developmental age, multiply by 0,667. This would typically include hobgoblins who are a mix between orcs and goblins and Ozcuras who age like orcs despite their mysterious, but mixed, origins. Other mixes might age more like their other, non-orc parent. Ur Dur goblins are 'Unnatural' in being created by the demon Prince Satman the Apprentice, the Ur Dur age at twice the rate of humans. Some goblin - Ur Dur mixes might age faster than regular goblins.

Examples[]

An orc that is 4 years old would have the development of a human 6 year old. (Little Child)

An orc that is 8 years old would have the development of a human 12 year old. (Kid approaching adolescence)

An orc that is 12 years old would have the development of a human 18 year old. (Young adult)

An orc that is 18 years old would have the development of a human 27 year old. (Adult)

An orc that is 30 years old would have the development of a human 45 year old. (Middle Aged)

An orc that is 50 years old would have the development of a human 75 year old. (Elderly)

Life Expectancies[]

The life expectancies of orcs, and especially goblins, are rather poor. Usually over half the children dying before adulthood, mostly due to various ailments relating to close quarters and sanitary issues, but sometimes also hunger. Adults often acclimated to most diseases, but sometimes still falling prey to new communicative diseases and hunger. Very often, they might die to being killed in violence or accidents, or wounds that are poorly treated and become septic.

Very few orcs and almost no goblins would live to be truly elderly. Culturally, orcs would think of middle aged as being 'elderly'. Indeed, hard lives with low resources and chronic ailments would often make orcs 'age' beyond their apparent years.
