The Sukkes Empire, alternatively known as the Sukke Empire, Sukkes Kingdom or Sukke Horde was a short-lived pagan human realm set within the northern aelian possessions of the weakened Holy Sargonic Empire, between the 2607-2629 a.a.H.

The only ruler of the empire was Sturmt Starkbein.

History Edit

The Sukkeses, Sukkes or Sukke tribes was a diverse people of northern Hieyoks, who lived scattered along the northern shores of the Hieyokscream, the islands of the north and the Sukke peninsula. Seen as barbarians, they had limited trade with the Five Kingdoms, normally trading by the Navaarmen.

While the Navarmen adopted Christianity, the Sukkes remained pagans, and would be later influenced by Dark prophets of the Demons, incorporating demons and demon cults to their traditional beliefs.

For long a sideline group, demographic expansion of the XXVI century resulted in increased pressure among the Sukkeses, who began raiding and migrating in small scale to northern Aels.

While the Holy Sargonic Empire was united and strong, they easily dealt with these raiders and pirates.

However, with the beginning of the Sargonic Religious Wars, the Sukkes tribes would first be approached by Camilo VIII The Apostate to serve under his banners as mercenaries. Hearing this call and promises of gold and payment, the Sukke Horde will sail from northern Hieyoks to Aels, arriving at the 2588 at Navatiak.

However, while they arrived as mercenaries of the Apostate Emperor, soon it became evident they didn't come to serve him, as they seized Navatiak for themselves, despite the demands of the Apostate to leave Navatiak and join his forces.

This will lead to conflict, and Don Camilo VIII will then demand them to either join his army or leave, to which the Sukkes answered by invading the Imperial Province of the Northern Marches at the 2589 a.a.H, defeating the forces of the Apostate and making northern Aels the core of a Sukkes realm.

As the empire crumbled apart under religious wars, the war of the three emperors and the Blazakhovian Muslim invasion, further Sukkes tribes and immigrants settled in northern Aels, who will raid imperial lands further in the south, sometimes becoming mercenaries of the Caliphate of the Orange Sun of Blazakhov.

Blazakhov was able to conquer the heartland of the Holy Sargonic Empire -Sargos-, but in their own they faced an internal crisis, and again the Sukkeses will seize the opportunity of a weakened empire, invading Blazakhov held Sargos at the 2607, defeating the Muslim armies and forcing them out of Sargos. There, in Millbridge, they will proclaim the foundation of the Sukkes Empire, with the chieftain Sturmt Starkbein crowning himself as emperor of the Holy Sargonic Empire -a claim never recognized- and of the Sukkeses.

The Sukkeses will then defeat the Blazakhovian armies in the Battle of Barlans River two years later (2609), forcing the Blazkahovian to abandon their possessions to the north of the Barlans River.

While they claimed to be an empire, tribal divisions were strong, and they failed to set institutions and organization, often relying only in existing, weakened Holy Sargonic Institutions for tax collection: as well, despite the immigration of settlers from Hieyoks, they were chronically short of manpower, and a small minority over their Weseuros subjects, failing to legitimize their rule, depending only on their military might

Overextended, they will clash with Gorbegea at the 2620 a.a.H in the Gorbegea-Sukkes War, and later faced the invasion of Ne'Sargonics in the War of Sargos, at the 2624.

Defeated by the Gorbegeos in the south at the 2625, soon they were as well forced out of the Five Kingdoms, retreating to the Northern Marches: there, they will try a last stand in the Battle of the Argian Fields, at the 2629: there, died their king Sturmt Starkbein, resulting in the final collapse of the Sukkes Empire.
