The Uniox goatmen are a race of the beast-people, that lived in Aels and Hieyoks. They were a creature with the head of and legs of a goat and the body of a man, described as part goat and part man.

The Goatmen were created by the Demon-Goat Guildarmash, lord of Dbejor, a secondary demon prince of the Dark Legion of Demons, during the Kanovhook wars.

They weren't the only creation of demons based on the goats, as one could say the demons seemed to be somewhat obsessed with these creatures, as other kinds of goat-people were the hattak fauns. But for their size -and goat head-, the Uniox were distinctive from their goat cousins.

Walking upright as men, with heads of horned goats, they tread upon cloven hooves and are skilled with weapons of war, as they were trained by demons for war. They are cunning, working together to form organized clans that accomplish the desires of their devilish commanders. Their strength is immense and some of the more powerful clans are rumored to guard the lairs of the Dark Legion's more renowned demons.

One of the reasons some guess Demons used goats for not only one creature, but several, and even several demons adopted goat-like features, it was because when the demons first appeared on Demonatch Island emerging from Mount Satanmet, Goats are among the earliest animals domesticated by demons.

Most goatmen naturally have two horns, of various shapes and sizes depending on the breed. Uniox have horns unless they are "polled" (meaning, genetically hornless) or the horns have been removed, typically soon after birth. There have been incidents of polycerate Uniox (having as many as eight horns), although this is a genetic rarity thought to be inherited.

Goatmen are ruminants. They have a four-chambered stomach consisting of the rumen, the reticulum, the omasum, and the abomasum. As with other mammal ruminants, they are even-toed ungulates.

Uniox are reputed to be willing to eat almost anything, and while human stories often have them as carnivores, they are mostly herbivores. As well, while goatmen will not actually eat inedible material, they are browsing animals, not grazers like cattle and sheep, and (coupled with their natural curiosity) will chew on and taste just about anything resembling plant matter to decide whether it is good to eat, including books, papers and so on. Another possibility is Uniox are curious about the unusual smells of leftover food in discarded cans or boxes.

Aside from sampling many things, goatmen are quite particular in what they actually consume, preferring to browse on the tips of woody shrubs and trees, as well as the occasional broad-leaved plant. However, it can fairly be said that their plant diet is extremely varied, and includes some species which are otherwise toxic.

Goatmen don't seem to be able to learn to speak other languages rather than their own.
