Vakkism (from the ancient Andani kanov word Vakkos, a translation of the Yermeni Vako, meaning "the chosen one", together with the Dumian termination -ian and -itas) is a monotheistic syncretic Kanov religion based on ancient Andani and Yermenian kanov politeist pantheon and Christianity. Vakkism would be one of the largest religions in central Aels, until it was largely displaced by the Demon Cults and Christianism, being known their adherents as Vakkunos.
Most Vakunos believed that the Vakkist Prophet Toro was the second comming of Christ, being Son of God, fully divine and fully human: but this second coming of Christ, was as well a reincarnation of all the old benign gods of the Andani and Yermenios, fused in one with this second Christ. Toro was supposed to be the saviour of all kanovs, as Christ was the saviour of humanity, whose coming was prophesied in the Book of Knudle. Consecuently, the Vakunos refer to Toro as Vakka.
Vakkism is a syncretic kanov-human religion that adapted elements of Abrahamic religions into its own, originating in the reinterpretation of the Andani kanovs of Christian teachings to Andani kanov in the XI century. Originating in the Lake of Andas region in the Barlans, it quickly spread to all the Barlans, Gorbegea and even Hannian, Polforia and the northwest of Aels. It grew in size and influence quickly in less than a century, from the 1217 to the 1290, as was aggressively proselytized as a religion, being the official religion of the Vakkusta Empire.
The Military decline of the Vakkusta Empire, the competition with Christianity and the arrival of Demons weakened the impulse of the religion, and while it never disappeared in the Barlans, it lost much of its influence, and had played a prominent role in the shaping of all the Yermenios kanov.
History[]
The Vakkism originated around the 1.200 a.a.H (After the Apparition of Humanity), when the Vakkist prophet was born. The prophet began to predicate at age 17, at the 1.217 a.a.H., and only 3 years later, the religion extended in the steppes of central Aels.
While he was killed by an angry multitude of pagan barbarians he hoped to convert, only at 35 years old, his successors formed in the 1.238 a.a.H., there was already founded a Vakkusta Empire, that will extend, by preaching and by sword, for the next years, reaching the maximal extension of this empire at the 1290 a.a.H.
